younger years...

Born July 17, 1993 in the South Bay of California into a family of 3. We were very close with our relatives and trips to see them was always something I looked forward to. I was drawn to activities such as exploring with the computer, dressing up in wild outfits, and pulling pranks on just about anyone. I loved being around people and expressed myself freely, even dying my hair just about every color imaginable from grades 5-7.

middle years...

My passion for technology increased in middle school, always researching and wanting the newest cell phone on the market, and I began exploring with Adobe Photoshop 7. I eventually put together a mini-portfolio folder for myself with my 'work' and photos I'd created, passing it out to family friends. I also loved fashion at an early age and being around my friends and family. I would describe myself as a creative person, and during this time is when I was able to figure this out.

With a more liberal view on things in high school, I felt more comfortable expressing myself, and made new friends there. I enjoyed my English classes; reading and writing about new topics I was previously ignorant to. I took up painting, drawing, and drama class, which I enjoyed quite a bit. I also was part of the Gay Straight Alliance and Newspaper Club, both where I felt I could contribute to or bring awareness to topics I cared about. I graduated with a good GPA, however I did not end up attending the college I was accepted to.

up until now...

I took an alternative route to attending university, and perhaps was able to experience the world in a different way. I am grateful for every experience I've had and for learning about myself in the real world, maturing, and moving forward. I worked as an assistant graphic designer for a small printed packaging company in 2015. There I had more hands-on learning with programs such as InDesign and Photoshop, as well as providing client experiences. We worked with producing designs for clients onto flat pouches, gusset bags, boxes, and labels. It was a positive experience and there I realized I had an interest in pursuing graphic design further.

I moved to LA a few years ago and met some inspiring people. I took a step back from design, and focused on other things. I experimented in different fields along the way, including cosmetology, where I was able to express myself creatively in a different way, and through that experience I saw a connection between the aesthetic side of the two fields.

My family is the most important thing to me, and their support in my endeavors is a guiding light to me. Aside from anything having to do with design or creativity, I began to enjoy different types of exercise, trying to eat healthy, and balancing my time and energy. Getting back into design is exciting to me and I look forward to learning more about web design.
