The website I picked out is called Mastro's Resturants. For a fancy restaurant chain, the website appears to be lacking in taste. The UI feels a bit outdated and would be excellent for a redesign!
The Reservation div seems the most basic type of information grabber. An upgrade of that is definitely needed. Also the navigation on the left isn't responsive at all. Yea sure, it works but it could be more appealing and more inclusive aswell. Also, the bottom half of the page is occupied by customer's instagram posts which isn't appealing and needs to go.
Three similiar steak house restaurants that are much more responsive are Lawry's The Prime Rib, Monty's Steakhouse, and Chez Jay's. They all have much more interesting visual design and is much more responsive. The navigation is better and is easy to tell when hovering. Also, the social media is tucked away behind some sleek media icons.
The target audience for the website redesign is high class people looking to go out and enjoy a fine piece of steak. They should be able to get quick pictures of some of the menu items and quickly make a reservation. Im sure they don't have a lot of time to be browsing websites so the most important things are food pictures and reservations on the main page. We need to make the reservation button easier to find. Also, we need the task of showcasing the finest dishes on the front page to show customers what typically is served. In regards of issues, we need to deal with the Instagram Posts at the bottom and get rid of them or put them somewhere else tucked away. A major haul on the navigation needs to be done and probably reorganized as well. The schedule on how this can be accomplished will depend on the type of pictures we are able to display and the UI thought process as well.
