Isabel Rodriguez was born in the scorching desert city of Hermosillo, in the state of Sonora. In her beginnings, she worked in the finest resorts and five star properties in the Riviera Maya in the hospitality and tourist field. Rodriguez later moved to Florence, Italy to pursue his love and appreciation for fine cooking, and graduated from the Florence Culinary Arts School. After graduating, she took all what she's learned and opened a restaurant in the busy district of Santa Fe, in Mexico City called Huipil. It has gained great reviews for their combination of traditional Mexican cuisine and contemporary seasonings.
From there, she decided to take her skills and flavors to the seas, and was given a four year partnership from Carnival for her outstanding work in the first year. She was invited to join the opening management team of Chef Patricia Quintana at her restaurant near Bellas Artes, which shortly thereafter earned 4 stars from El Universal, Mexico's most prestigious newspapaer and 4 Michelin stars.
In 2010, Rodriguez moved to Los Angeles with her wife and family to try luck in American soil and that traditional contemporary Mexican cuisine can be enjoyed anywhere.
Her most recent project, Los Chapulines, just like her restaurant in Mexico City and in the ships of Carnival, she brings her unique flavor to the states, but with a twist of Chicano taste.
