Started as a modest way to challenge and remove books in school grew into an activity to censor education through social and political motives. Books have been banned in countries across the world, and typically, these books are banned on moral, religious, or political grounds. To ban books is an act of censorship and imposes control over our education. Students are introduced to literature through school, however, these restrictions shows the often singular perspective pushed onto children, keeping the current status quo, often white perspective narrative.
