I was born in Mexico City
But, I was raised in Los Angeles
My Education Background
Ever since I was in High School, I have taken art classes such as 2D drawing and painting w/oil paint. Studying those art skills grew my love for art even more. My goal was to become a Fashion Designer because, in High School, outfits are everything. I graduated in 1999 and went straight to work to buy myself outfits similar to those in the spreads of Harpers Bazaar and Elle magazines.
Coming across Neiman Marcus' "The Book" catalogs expanded my urge to continue my studies. There was a segment in that catalog that was interactive, creative, and seemed hand-drawn. "The Book" and music album covers inspired me to sign up for Graphic Design classes when CS2 was the most up-to-date creative suite. I learned some Illustrator and Photoshop basics along with Typography. The school provided the software and computers in the classrooms. Unfortunately, after taking those classes, I did not have those tools at home and could not practice those skills at home. I felt discouraged and quit school.
Years later, I decided to follow my path and look into Santa Monica College Graphic Design courses. Now, I am working towards an Associate Degree in Graphic Design and applying for the IxD program as soon as I get my AA degree.
