Shoe Horns!!!
For the longest time I never even knew what these things were, even though I saw them at many people's houses- even my own, growing up. I never even asked anybody to explain the purpose of these funny-looking little objects until probably well into adulthood. (Even now that I know, I'm too impatient NOT to jam my feet into my shoes anyway.) But man, I respect the type of people who take the time to delicately slide their heels into their (probably very fancy) shoes. Seems like it might even be a meditative process. Anyway, shoe horns tend to look like sleek, curved little modern art sculptures to me, and even if I personally don't treat myself to the luxury of shoe horns, I hope they never become obsolete and continue to be the weird little everyday household object they are! I didn't even realize how many different shapes they can come in too!:
