Create two (2) sets of design comprehensives for your restaurant website redesign project. One set for "landing" page and one set for the menu food/drinks subpage. These are high-level representations of our design concept, therefore it is important that the color palette, typefaces, interactive components, icons, photographic imagery, and layout all be represented in our comps.
Project #5: Design Comprehensives
Insights
In reflecting on my wireframes and style tiles, I felt the look and layout could be improved. The beers served in the restaurant have a distinct label design which is also used as art in the restaurant interior. In addition, there is a large scale modern Japanese mural on the outside of the restaurant. I chose to update the visual design to showcase these elements more. While I kept mural art in the header, I reduced the size a bit from the wireframes as it felt heavy. The home page has a bold vertical navigation, unique to the rest of the pages. It will be echoed however in the mobile design when the menu becomes hidden and expands as a vertical navigation. Lastly, I updated the typeface choice to be a bit more personable.
