For this project I redesigned the website of the restaurant Harajuku Taproom in Culver City, Los Angeles as Harajuku Taphouse. My workflow consisted of the following process:
- Market Research and Competitive Analysis
- Sitemap Development
- Style Tiles
- Wireframes
- Design Comps
- Website Prototype
- Revised Design Comps
- Final Responsive Website Deliverable
I feel like the revised website offers a more modern and brighter feel with emphasis placed on the unique style of food and craft beer selection. The navigation is simple and intuitive. Calls to action for reservations and online ordering are consistent yet don't immediately steer the user away from the site.
My biggest challenges were establishing visual hierarchy with typography while keeping responsiveness in mind and replicating my design ideas accurately with html and css. Sometimes compromises had to be made, but overall, I made tremendous growth with this project and have a much greater comfort level with web design and development.
