For this part of the research, I evaluated a few competitor’s websites. For direct competitors, I chose three popular food trucks in the Los Angeles area.
They are Poutine Brothers, Peaches’, and Kogi BBQ.
For company branding, I will look to Peaches’ as inspiration for consistency and strength in its identity. For website layout, content, and visual design, I will look to Kogi BBQ as the benchmark for a great food truck website.
As an indirect competitor, I chose Lemonade. Although not a food truck, they also have a strong catering business. The Lobos Truck can use a push to increase their catering business. They can also borrow from Lemonade’s beautiful product images, user-friendly menus, and delightful animations.
The Lobos Truck needs a website that functions well, tell a captivating story, and most importantly make it easy for hungry customers to find the food truck. Their main goal is to perfect their customer service. Their customers are hungry working people between ages 25-40 who have limited time during lunch breaks and social outings.
