- Sun Nong Dan
Also, listed on Jonathan Gold's 101, Sun Nong Dang is one of the best traditional Korean restaurants in Los Angeles. They are a direct competitor when it comes to the style of food serving some of the same dishes however Sun Nong Dang has a more causual dining atmospehere.
- Visual design: Although their website it not impressive, it has a lot more to offer than Soban's website, including a logo and background that gives their website a lot more character than a website without these two simple elements.
- Content: Not a whole lot of content but lots of good images.
- Call to Action: New locations and new menu items coming soon! Good to know.
- Navigation: Straigtforward. Logo could be Home button instead of having Home button in navigation.
- Functionality: Works fine except for social media buttons.
- Social Media: Social media buttons don't seem to be working.
- Baroo
Baroo is an example of a more contemporary Korean restaurant with experimental dishes. Their modern decor could appeal to customers of Soban as well as those looking for a new interpretation of traditional Korean dishes.
- Visual design: Interesting scrolling website with side bar. Could use more visual interest through out website not just in Images section.
- Content: Good content with a nice About section.
- Call to Action: N/A
- Navigation: Located in side bar on the left. Logo should be home button, not another button in navigation. Baroo button should be an About button. Images should be called Gallery. Contact us could just be with social media.
- Functionality: Works well for what it is. Location and Hours gets lost, should be in side bar.
- Social Media: Looks like they have a nice photography direction for Instagram.
- Master Ha
Master Ha is a traditional Korean restaurant with a sleek interior that could be considered direct competition although they make different types of dishes.
- Visual design: Nice photos and logo.
- Content: Videos incorporated into scrolling gallery on home page is nice. The Korean and English text under the About page is a great idea. Music is confusing.
- Call to Action: N/A
- Navigation: Navigation bar moves inconsistently with scrolling home page otherwise functional.
- Functionality: Broken link on home page, press page could be orgnized better with some links, gallery should be separate page not just link to home page for consistency, otherwise website works okay for what it is.
- Social Media:
