The restaurant I decided to base our project on is Aburiya Raku. They are located in West Hollywood. Raku has good online presence. They have great reviews on Google and Yelp, they also have social media presence. I am going to rename/rebrand this restaurant to Tabemono no Ai. Google translated it to "love of food".
Provides good content and has nice images.
This site is simple. It provides a menu, location, you can purchase a gift card, and make reservations. They also provide their instagram handle.
Clean site. They fill you in on their back story, provide a menu, purchase gift cards, and provide their social media handles so you have ways to keep connected.
Hamasaku one is probably my favorites. Just the right amount of content, beautiful pictures, a snip it about the chef, you can order online, and make reservations. They also provide their social media handle for you to stay connected.
The goal for the website is to make it more visually apealling, make it responsive, and to give it a more upscale vibe to it especially since they have a restaurant in Las Vegas as well. When I think of the Japanese, I think of simple, clean, and minimalistic, the current page now has way too much going on. It's crazy to have a background picture and then have a picture over top of that. I would also like to provide some consistency, there is a different background images with each link that is clicked on.
The overall goal of the new site is try and bring in more patrons. Also for them to visit the site and for us to be able to provide the right amount of content. The target market age is 25 and up, who are business people/couples/high-end spenders.
