Taix

Analyze

Taix is definitely a local institution featuring traditional french fare and classic drinks. People come from around the Southern California Area to experience the nostalgia and warm atmosphere. The website is dated for sure and pretty stale. Taix is a bar, restaurant, and lounge featuring live music. Local bands and up and coming acts frequently perform in the lounge. There is a major opportunity to appeal to a younger generation of music fans who are visiting the restaurant for the first time. There is not much information provided on the index page, and the menus are quite static visually. I really don't see an engaging call to action or a sense of place. There is not much of a social media presence.Taix

Goals and target audience

A renewed digital presence would increase customer engagement and traffic. Young locals and people who have lived in the area who love the comfort of a familiar place would be the target audience. Menus need to be reorganized and updated, The history and about pages need to be reworked and updated to bring the restaurant into the current era. Events and theme night need to be highlighted better, as well as the calendar.

Competitive Analysis

Edendale

A new local favorite that offers updated traditional food, Edendale has a similar feel. The website offers more information but also could use some reorganizing and updating. The colors are a bit muddy and the photographs are kind of dark but you do get more of a feel for the ambience than Taix's site.Edendale

Sqirl

Sqirl has become a popular restaurant over the past few years. While their website can use more photos of food and some warmth, they do have a market selling a variety of food and gifts which might also work for Taix. The animation is also pretty compelling on the Sqirl site also and there is a clear call to action... to buy jam. The site is geared towards a younger more design oriented customer. Sqirl

Little Dom's

Little's Dom's website is definitely more organized and direct. There is a clear call to action asking the customer to order. The site does need some updating though, the visuals are a bit dated. There is clear navigation to the catering and delivery options, and the menus are easily accessible.Little Dom's

Pine and Crane

This local restaurant's website is nice and airy. The food looks yummy and well lit, and the menu navigation is intuitive. The logo is clean and looks modern and contemporary.Pine and Crane
