Website Research

  • I choose this website as my redesign final project, it is one of the most famous japanese ramen restaruants around West Los Angeles. The featuring layout is simple and clean within few photography slides. The main navigation is in the middle and clearly displays six pages. The sub contents show different information with half page of photograph about their best food on the left. The main navigation with its name and logo design always stays at top of page when turning into subpages.
  • The current design for this website is simple like usual Japanese styles, the photographs on the main page are mostly the architectual and interior design of the restaturant, I think there should be more photos about their food than architecture because the food might be more attractive for customers. I like the way it shows full page of photograph on the main page but it seems a little bit monotonous and boring. The design main page could be more interesting and more things to look at. I like the design of subcontens and all typefaces are perfectly matched with its theme and layout.

  • This websites is quite similar to the first one. A large picture on main page with its name on the right. The color palette is well matched with the photos and leaves a feel of balance. subcontents under each navigations seems too small because of bad choice of color and font thus makes each title looks too large. Functionality is deficient and the choice of photo under each page is unprofessional. Social media sites are at the bottom of home page which clearly shows the proper links to each social media site.

  • This website has different style compare to another two, and shows a traditonal way of design. The layout design is ordinary and inaesthetic because each part of content were not well organized. There are too many choice of font on main page, so it looks a little bit messy. Its functionality shows lack of creativity. The gallery at the middle of home page displays many photos of food. There is no name or introdution around it and all photos looks like the same. There are too much information on the home page, such as promotions, advertissment, menu. The social media sites are combined with the title above the main navigaiton.
    • Goal + Target Audience

The goal for the website is to attract more customers and share Japanese culture of food with locals. Target audience will be the local citizens and travelers around the world.
